Re: Eclair ACL Battery Options

Our video tap (CEI on an SRII, not ACL) eats a lot of current. I'd
expect it to severely reduce your running time. Our tap consumes 680
mA. If yours is similar, you'll be eating up half your capacity with
the tap, which you'll probably be using more than just for the exact
filming time (don't you use the tap some for setup, rehearsals, etc?)

In fact, as compact as those packs are, why not make up a separate
one just for the tap? Would it add that much extra weight?

Yes, hit recycle button and Richard Karn comes out of your charger. How DO
they do it?? (-;

They are 1400ma and it is a very reasonable, compact, reliable power
source.
I'll let you know how long they run the camera and the videotap. It'll be a
while until I do the modification though.

Radio Shack or
Circuit City will take them. Just ask at the cashier's desk, or

Let me get this straight--you push the recycle button on the
charger
and Radio Shack comes out and picks up your old batteries? :-)

Seriously, what capacity are your NiMh cells--1400 mAh? Sounds
like
a very nice, compact power source!
