RE: Eclair ACL ACL - Arri Adapter

Hi, Les

Yeah, that's what I have. Sorry, I was a bit sloppy in my description. Sure,
it's the CA 1/B coupler or adapter that lets me put the Eclair mount
Angenieux 12-120 over the c-mount face of the ACL.

And yes, I have the standard Arri mount Schneiders, the 28-50-75 -- which
are my standard Arri 2C lenses. I'll have to pick up a 10mm Schneider for
sure, and then later maybe even a 16mm.

Now, the funny thing is what will I do with my Angenieux 10-15-25 (f/0.95)
lenses? Maybe I'll sell them on eBay as a set. Oh, well, dreams die hard. I
spent many a sleepless night hunting them down on eBay. They do give a
dreamy look to any shot, and God knows I have some dreamy footage from the
60's that I want to match with some new stuff. LOL Maybe I'll keep them
after all...

But the discussion on the LIST has persuaded me to shoot with the
Schneiders, as I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on Zeisses. I'd be
interested in a dreamy price on mounts. Hopefully there are enough orders. I
know how machine shop setup works. The #2 seems to be the best way to go. I
like to pop the Schneiders in and out into one adapter.

Vic

 Hi Vic ,
Not quite sure what you mean by an ACL Zoom Adapter.
Do you mean that your Zoom lens has a Cameflex mount ( generally bronze )
& is 46mm diameter which fits in the TS/CA Adapter ( which has a bronze
insert ) ?
If you do , next question , are your Schneider lenses mounted in Arri
Standard , ( 41m Diameter with a groove at the back ) as opposed to the Arri
Bayonet mount with 2 lugs ?
 The options are ,
 1. A CA1 Adapter which is Stainless steel & the Arri bayonet lens twists
into it , 7 it twists into the Cameflex mount. I can also put screws in this
mount to make a semi permanent mount ( ideally you would need 1 for each
Arri Standard mounted lens.

 2. A dedicated Arri Standard - ACl (TS ) Adapter which Eclair used to make
,& I could be persuaded , which allows you to change lenses rapidly

I'm running a batch of CA 1 's at the moment , & will shortly post some
Lens Mount pics on my Site

If there's enough interest I'll make several Option 2's (see above ) & try
for a sensible price . If you've got access to an ACL Manual you'll see it
there , it's quite a mount.

 Regards
 Les
