I can rarely answer questions on this forum because most of the other
members have much more experience than me, so I am happy to be able to offer
a few comments on this one. I looked into doing timelapse with the ACL, and
I actually am quite close to adding that capability but I haven't had time
since I moved into a house a few weeks ago and much is still packed.
Anyway, enough babble. I managed to pick up a stepping motor for really
cheap. It's an ITSM BXDC. Go to the following website for information:
http://www.ergomatrix.com/itsm.htm
As you can see, it's kinda pricey and will need adaptation. I need to have
a custom bracket machined and I'm going to mold a few couplers out of
acrylic. The machine itself is incredibly priced and amazingly versatile.
It can even be used for long-term industrial applications (like 1 frame
every day or 1 frame every week, for really long timelapse projects, like
with building construction). Anyway, the only other system I've seen for
the ACL lists for somewhere around $3995, so this would be a cheaper option.
If you call them they can probably help you with the details.

Anyone care to explain how to do time lapse photography on the acl? seeing
it's versatility, I wondered if it was possible.
