personally, i came to a point in my life where i could either continue to 'act' or move onto to 'being' me ... just being. there will always be those people who cannot understand this, and so in their ignorance, a great number of them resort to pettyness, and what would start out as one insult, would end up in several charactor attacks. and all for what? who knows. it always perplexes the heck out of me why it happens, but it does. if a person would cut himself off from you, or go to tear you down because you were only being true to yourself(without being mean, cruel, or otherwise to him), tell me exactly what you would loose? what would be 'worth it' on the other end of that burned bridge?
if one wishes to work his way up the ranks by closely paying hommage to the next above in line, then so be it ... its a subservient tightrope, and is walked by many people throughout the world. if you choose to toss your own rope, and test it, and walk it yourself, so be it. it is there for the doing. and can be done by anyone willing to do so. either way, its what makes you sleep well at night and wake up the next morning looking forward to your day that matters. so whatever works for you is obviously the best route for you. or me, or them, or any/everyone else.
regarding the 400' mags ... were those eclair issue or after market? thanks.

I'm going to try to give my opinion as little as possible here, although
I will give it. I think it's important not to use expletives and
language which others might find offensive. Others may take offense,
and it could create a ripple effect in the forum. I'm not a prude but
it's important to keep the peace at the cost of censoring yourself. The
reason I said that we shouldn't write about technicians was because Mark
had told us that before, and since he is a senior member (and very
knowledgeable) it is important to go along with the rules of the
establishment even if you don't necessarily agree. This is one of the
best forums I've ever been in. It's where people have ties that, if
broken, could bring about economic repercussions (with that I'm talking
about burning your bridges with a person who might be able to offer you
a part or a service or even great advice for your camera somewhere down
the road). It is not wise to simply write whatever is in your heart
(even though it's sincere) and post it without carefully thinking about
what you just said and if you could re-phrase it in a less offensive or
more succint way. The writer has a responsibility not just for himself
but to the audience he writes for. I am sorry to sound preachy, but I
think if others would please heed this advice, the forum would reach a
more harmonius state than the one it is in right now.
