Re: Eclair Cameras: Registration-response w/question

Is this essentially the same as filming a focus chart with 50' of film, then moving the chart to the left and down 1cm(or chart mark) and filming in reverse, thereby double exposing the film, hence determining registration? or does one screw the lens cap on, rewind the film, and then film forward the same 50'? or both?

Yes, supering a title is, in effect, a registration test of sorts. For an official registration test with a chart (the best chart is a grid of white lines on a black background), the ACL won't film in reverse, so you'd rewind the film in a darkroom (or black bag) and then do the second expsure. (I imagine that filming in reverse on a camera capable of such wouldn't be as valid a test anyway). M.
