There is a procedure to perform to determine where in the film path the scratch is being caused. This procedure is in cinematography manuals or I could outline it here. Needless parts of the original message have been removed! C.J.
Hi there, Just did a shoot with a Cameflex. Had continual base scratch on the negative on one mag and intermittent base scratch on another mag. Fortunately the scratches were close enough to the perfs that they will be out of frame, but this is a concern. Anyone else experiance this? After shooting off some footage my camera assistant checked it numerous times and still saw the scratch, but it seemed apperant that the mag was the cause and the scratch originates before it passes the gate. Would truly appreciate any info on this matter. All the best, Dale
