Eclair Cameras: Cameflex 16mm Gate

Hi,

I have an 35/16mm Eclair Cameflex with the older style 16mm gate.  Does 
anyone know if the later 16mm gates with the longer left side edge help 
improve film registration?  I was wondering if I should find one and have it 
fitted to my camera, or if it made much of a diffference.
