Do not use that lens.
If it's similar to my 8mm Cosmicar, the lens cell protrudes beyond the =
edge of the C-mount thread. The mirror arm would collide with it in =
operation, wrecking the guts of the camera.

The 10mm Cosmicar has been supplied by ElectroHouse as part of an ACL =
package. The rear element protrudes the meerest fraction of a =
millimeter; they made the decision to use it, I suppose, after taking =
the camera apart and observing the movement with the lens in place.

Your 8.5mm Cosmicar can be used on a non-reflex "crash" camera, such as =
a Filmo, or a Kodak cartridge camera.
