No, I have cameras with later serial numbers that are "II" models in every other way, that do not have the onboard pack, or have it velcroed to the mag. Apparently, it was optional.

Thanks for the info Mark, however, I have seen several acl for sale that were advertised as acl 2 that did not have onboard batteries. Some have had the battery velcrowed on to the mag. Having an onboard batt on the camera that I choose to buy is an important feature to me. Is it safe to say that if the camera does not have the onboards it is not an "acl 2"?
