Just be careful not to UNscrew that knurled ring too far when you remove
the lens.  If you unscrew it until it stops it will be jammed so tightly
you may have to use the Channelocks (gasp!) to release it.

There's a knurled ring at the very front of the adapter that turns.
Maybe it 
is jammed too tight right now --- but it will turn. From behind the
camera, 
turn it to the left and it will cause the prongs to move into the lens.
