I don't know if this will help those unable to open the picture, but it 
worked for me:

I receive the digests in text/MIME format, so the picture came encoded 
as base64. I had to manually copy the data (from 
"------_=_NextPart_001_01C2F3F7.4894B034..." to 
"------_=_NextPart_001_01C2F3F7.4894B034--", including all the 
'gibberish' in between) from Peter's message and save it as a text file. 
I then changed the extension to .b64, and since I'm on a PC, I used 
WinZip to extract the picture.

And what a picture - it's a beauty!
